Just make it work
Beautification is not enough. At Designit, our aim is to design solutions that work. So when housewares giant Fiskars asked us to create new ranges of functional tableware, we knew exactly where they were coming from.
Hungry for inspiration
Yet with endless choice already in the market, we needed to find out what new product could wet consumers’appetite.
We took to the streets. We invaded strangers’ homes. We stormed shops. Designit’s research and innovation department quizzed people across Scandinavia about how they eat, drink and set their table.
Designer cutlery
Armed with new information, our product designers developed three new series of tableware products: Nexus, Verve and Avanti. The cutlery wasn’t just something to eat with; it was also to be admired.
And in the likely event that those fickle consumers change their minds, Designit decorated the cutlery using laser etching. That way, Fiskars can create new styles for new markets in the future. We call it adaptable
design.
