Entur is Norway’s new state-owned hub for public transport data, responsible for journey planning across all Norway’s transport hubs as well as railway ticketing. Entur challenged Designit to take a multi-disciplinary approach to create a seamless transport system that would empower Norwegians all across the country with their transport choices.

In a collaboration between Entur, Designit, and other partners, Designit was challenged to create a brand and visual identity for Entur, from which all other project deliverables could be based. In order to best collaborate with Entur and other agency partners, we kept the process agile, with concept development and implementation often running side by side.
Flexibility was key to this identity, both to allow other partners to implement it, and to enable Entur to communicate with their diverse audience, ranging from travelers to public transport providers. It was also important that the content should take center stage, so that information – and travelers’ options – are clearly communicated.
The communication concept We Are One laid the foundation for our work. Highlighting the word ‘EN’ (‘one’) with a red line in the logo becomes a strong symbol of Entur’s core – collaboration. The result is a strong visual language for Entur to be recognized as a trustworthy, modern and relevant service for both travelers and partners alike.
The identity is built on a simple, clear concept with a vivid and varied expression. It’s flexible and easy to work with, forming the basis for Entur’s website, app, offices, uniforms, stations, ticketing, and more.
We chose Designit because they represent an exciting multi-disciplinary approach and professional weight that we looked for to solve this project. Their experience with transportation and tourism both in Norway and internationally also weighed heavily in the choice of agency and we are looking forward to presenting the new brand and travel planner for Norway. Launched in 2016, Entur now handles approximately 21 million train tickets and 500,000 client enquiries per year, with a $55 million annual turnover.
